Looking for ideas or solutions to the safety issues affecting your industry or regarding a specific interest in safety?  As a National Safety Council member, you are invited to participate in a variety of industry/interest specific groups called “Divisions,” providing you the access to the technical expertise of others in your field.  The purpose of divisions is to be the conduit for safety-focused information sharing and idea exchange with others in your industry.  Divisions provide opportunities to interact and discuss safety issues with other professionals who share the same job responsibilities, have experienced the same challenges and can share their thoughts and ideas to help you develop solutions. Benefits of Divisions

Distinguished Service to Safety Award (DSSA)

The Distinguished Service to Safety Award (DSSA) is the most prestigious award given to individuals by the National Safety Council in recognition of outstanding service and contribution in the field of safety.  Nominees are accepted from two sources: 1) NSC Divisions and 2) Members of NSC Board of Directors, Board of Delegates and/or Executive Staff. 

The 2012 DSSA form, guidelines and guidelines appendix will be posted January, 2012.

Honorary Life Award (HLA)

To recognize members who have made significant, meaningful contributions to safety, health or the environment and who can no longer serve in a fully active capacity.
