The National Safety Council has announced the 2010 Safe Driver of the Year Award recipients. The Safe Driver awards program helps organizations recognize the safe driving performance of individuals and fleets.
11 individuals have been awarded the Regional Best Safe Driver of the Year Award from the private sector and 9 individuals have been awarded the Area Best Safe Driver of the Year Award from the United States Postal Service. These drivers represent the best of the best for their particular region or area.
The top driver among all the nominees will be recognized with the highest honor as the 2010 Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of the Year, which will be announced at the 2010 National Awards Celebration in San Diego on Oct. 5, 2010.
146 individuals have been awarded the Safe Driver Award of Honor in the private sector recognizing 15 years or 250,000 miles without an accident. 337 individuals from USPS have been awarded the Safe Driver Award of Honor recognizing 15 years or 100,000 miles without an accident.
