Campbell Institute and Stewardship Action Council accepting
submissions for Innovation Challenge
Competition collects best practices resulting from innovation in environmental, health and safety
Itasca, IL – The Campbell Institute at the National Safety Council and the Stewardship Action Council are now accepting submissions for the Innovation Challenge. The program, in its second year, recognizes organizations for achievement in the planning and/or implementation of an innovative program addressing critical environmental, health and safety (EHS) topics in a way that demonstrates creative thinking, strategic implementation, and/or significant impact. Winners will be recognized at the 2015 Campbell Institute Symposium.
The topics for the Innovation Challenge are:
  • Workplace wellness: focusing on any program or promotion activity designed to support healthy behavior in the workplace and improve health outcomes
  • Zero waste: focusing on designing and managing products and processes to decrease the amount of materials going into landfills
“Applying to the Innovation Challenge is an opportunity to showcase a great Wellness or Zero Waste program, and influence others to implement these best practices,” said Gary Rosenblum, Senior Director of the Campbell Institute. “Winners of the Innovation Challenge don’t simply receive a trophy – they receive recognition as being truly best in class when it comes to the triple bottom line – people, planet, profit.”
Organizations of all sizes, industries, types and locales are eligible to compete in the Innovation Challenge. Judging will be performed by a diverse panel of recognized experts with a deep understanding of EHS innovation. Applicants have the opportunity for recognition across multiple categories. The submission deadline is September 1, 2014. Visit or for further information and complete submission details.
