Motor vehicle crashes are the No. 1 cause of workplace fatalities. As part of the National Safety Council strategy to address motor vehicle safety, it has partnered with the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) to provide NSC members with the opportunity to participate in NETS’ Strength In Numbers fleet safety benchmarking program.
The program helps organizations benchmark their fleet’s performance against other participants on 25 fleet safety program elements, such as driver training programs, crash review practices, leadership engagement and cell phone policies. More than 67 leading companies with a combined fleet of 500,000 vehicles participated in 2012.
The program also provides several other benefits, including:
- An invitation to NETS’ annual Fleet Safety Best Practices Conference, held each year in mid-October;
- Access to the “members only” section of NETS’ website to view past benchmarking reports, conference presentations and over 70 road safety-related Forum questions and answers;
- The opportunity to network with other NETS members who share a commitment to roadway safety.
The benchmark survey is conducted annually. The fee to participate is $1290 per year. To learn more, please visit NETS website.
