On Sept. 26, Janet Froetscher president and CEO of the National Safety Council delivered a keynote address at the opening session of the 2011 Governors Highway Safety Association annual meeting. The GHSA meeting brings together top state safety officials, researchers and others to share best practices and strategies for highway safety.
This year’s meeting is exploring how to increase visibility of highway safety issues and show the public that traffic fatalities shouldn’t be viewed as a necessary cost of mobility. Froetscher’s remarks explain the role businesses can play in shaping safety culture even on the roadways.
