At any given moment, 9 percent of drivers are talking on cell phones, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety estimates that drivers talking on cell phones are four times as likely to be involved in crashes.

Top federal and state leaders are addressing this dangerous issue, including:

  • Ray LaHood, U.S. Secretary of Transportation
  • Pat Quinn, Governor, State of Illinois
  • Jesse White, Secretary of State, Illinois
  • John D. Cullerton, Illinois Senate President
  • John D'Amico, Illinois Representative

Join these and other leaders from the traffic safety, research, medical, education and law enforcement communities at this free event. Visit nsc.org/2011summit for more information.
