Itasca, IL – Today,
the National Child Passenger Safety Board (NCPSB) announced the addition of six
new members to its Board. Angela Brown, Joshua DeFisher, Thelma Kuska, Dr. Dina
Morrissey, Dave Sander and Captain Robert White will serve during the 2014-2016
“We are thrilled to
have these six professionals serve on our Board,” said Amy Heinzen, NCPSB secretariat
and program manager at the National Safety Council. “Their dedication to our
children’s safety is unmatched, and we hope to save even more lives and prevent
injuries because of their appointment to the Board.”
Brown is the
Board’s newest diversity representative. She is also the program manager at the
Tennessee Child Passenger Safety Center at Meharry Medical College in
represent the Governor’s Highway Safety Association. He has worked as a highway
safety specialist with the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Program since 2011
and currently serves as the occupant protection programs coordinator in the
Highway Safety Office.

CEN, FAEN, will serve as the Board’s newest CPS advocate representative. Kuska
currently is a child passenger safety consultant and was a regional program
manager for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
will serve as the Board’s representative for injury prevention and healthcare.
Dr. Morrissey runs Kohls Cares – Kids on the Go, and Injury Free Coalition for
Kids programs, and she also serves as the state coordinator for Safe Kids Rhode
Sander will serve
as the Board’s child restraint manufacturer representative. Sander has worked
in the toy, consumer products, automotive products and child safety products
industries for the last 16 years. He currently is a project engineering manager
for Global Product Innovation at Ohio-based Evenflo Company Inc.
NR-EMTP, will serve as the Board’s newest public safety, fire and EMS
representative. Currently, Capt. White serves as the EMS community relations
coordinator at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C., and as co-chairman
of Safe Kids York County.
