NSC and OSHA renew alliance to help save lives and prevent workplace injuries

Washington, DC – The National Safety Council and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration today renewed their Alliance to help saves lives and prevent unintentional workplace injuries. The renewed Alliance focuses on motor vehicle safety, construction safety, and injury and illness prevention programs.

Through the renewed Alliance, OSHA and NSC have agreed to continue to partner in the development of compliance assistance tools and best practice documents; to convene, participate and exhibit at occupational safety forums and stakeholder meetings, such as the annual NSC Congress & Expo; and to partner with other OSHA Alliance participants to address specific construction and general industry safety issues.

“For more than 40 years, NSC has maintained a strong partnership with OSHA. We look forward to continuing this partnership to make an even greater impact in educating employers and workers on best practices in workplace safety. Working together, we can surely reduce the number of workplace deaths and injuries in our nation,” said Janet Froetscher, president and CEO of the National Safety Council.

First signed in September 2003, the NSC Alliance with OSHA was previously renewed in September 2005 and October 2007.
