The National Safety Council has partnered with Doha Industrial Safety Services to offer defensive driving and emergency care training courses in Qatar. NSC and DISS unveiled the new training center in Qatar during a June 2, 2010 press conference.
DISS is a provider of comprehensive occupational health and environmental management training programs. The direct cost of a motor vehicle crash is $51,000 per workers’ compensation claim, according to the National Council on Compensation Insurance’s Detailed Claim Information. Through driver training, DISS hopes to help organizations in the Middle East reduce the number of workplace motor vehicle crashes.
“Our goal is to help businesses protect their greatest asset – their employees,” said Roger Marks, president of the International Safety Council. “DISS-NSC training is designed for a wide range of organizations, including corporate fleets, construction truck companies, driving schools, safety consultants, government agencies, school, universities and law enforcement agencies.”
NSC provides safety and health training in more than 100 countries. NSC also has over 2,300 training centers, representing more than 8,800 certified DDC instructors. Learn more about the Council’s international efforts.
