Newcomers Bring Philanthropic and International Expertise

Itasca, IL – The National Safety Council announces the appointment of Michael E. Pollock as Vice President, Development, and Roger Marks as Executive Director, International Affairs.

Pollock brings to NSC an array of philanthropic and management expertise, including strategic planning, donor relationships and board development. Since 2005, Pollock had served Thresholds Psychiatric Rehabilitation Centers (Chicago) as Vice President, External Affairs. Prior to that time, Pollock held positions with the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago and Marathon Oil.

Pollock holds a master’s degree in organization development and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University.

Marks joins NSC with international trade experience in private industry that spans Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Prior to his arrival at NSC, Marks was an equity partner with Retail Concepts International, LLC, working with investors and private equity firms to identify target companies for acquisition and expansion in overseas markets. Marks earned a law degree from Cornell Law School and dual undergraduate degrees in economics and Russian history from the University of Pennsylvania.

The National Safety Council (www.nsc.org) saves lives by preventing injuries and deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the roads through leadership, research, education and advocacy.
