Itasca, IL – The National Safety Council today announced the release of a new safety training program for supervisors. The Supervisors’ Safety Development Program is a training product to help new and experienced supervisors lead employees in safety improvement. SSDP can be tailored to fit any organization’s industry, department or size. It allows supervisors to train internally and apply safety management knowledge, leadership skills and best practices to their own organizations.
SSDP is presented in 16 instructional modules, all with a focus on engaging employees and sustaining a process of continuous safety improvement. Participants can select the modules that best apply to their environments. The interactive modules include videos and group exercises to help analyze and improve an organization’s safety culture. SSDP offers self-check exams for each module, helping participants demonstrate the skills covered in the training and how to implement those skills in the workplace.
The new program is user-friendly and easily can be shared with others. Program facilitators are not required to have safety training. SSDP’s Facilitator Guide provides the confidence and capability needed to deliver successful training with step-by-step instructions. SSDP can be taught in as little as three to four days or over an extended period of time.
