OSHA and Safety+Health magazine announced OSHA's Top 10 violations of 2011 at this year's Congress & Expo. Patrick Kapust, deputy director of enforcement programs at OSHA, presented the Top 10 most frequently cited standards before a crowded group of spectators on the Expo Floor:
- Fall Protection (1926.501) – 7,139
- Scaffolding (1926.451) – 7,069
- Hazard Communication (1910.1200) – 6,538
- Respiratory Protection (1910.134) – 3,944
- Lockout/Tagout (1910.147) – 3,639
- Electrical – Wiring Methods (1910.305) – 3,584
- Powered Industrial Trucks (1910.178) – 3,432
- Ladders (1926.1053) – 3,244
- Electrical – General Requirements (1910.303) – 2,863
- Machine Guarding (1910.212) – 2,728
