National Safety Council Announces Executive Positions

Itasca, IL –  National Safety Council President and CEO Alan C. McMillan announced the appointments of Paulette Moulos and Deborah Waldeck to executive vice president/chief operating officer, and vice president, Membership and Services, respectively.

“These individuals have demonstrated outstanding management capabilities and considerable knowledge of key areas of the council,” McMillan said in making the announcement. “I am pleased to be able to recognize talented professionals who have dedicated their careers to the council and who have served with distinction every step of the way.”

Moulos, 53, joined the council in 1973 and has served in several key management positions with increasing responsibility for membership, volunteer management, chapter development and relations, and business development and growth. Since May of this year, Moulos has been serving as interim vice president, Safety and Health Programs. In the number two leadership position at the council, Moulos assumes responsibility for overall council strategic planning, management of the council’s eight business units, and oversight of Chapter Services including field operations for council-owned chapters.

A resident of Lisle, Ill., Moulos holds BA from DePaul University. She is a member of the Association Forum of Chicagoland, the American Society of Association Executives and the American Marketing Association, and is a certified strategic planner with the American Management Association.

Waldeck, 47, joined the council in 1981 and has held successive management positions in Membership, Customer Service and Safety Council Relations before becoming executive director of Human Resources 1997. As vice president, Membership and Services, Waldeck is responsible for council membership recruitment and retention initiatives, the council’s Customer Contact Center, volunteer division services and Conventions and Meetings Management.

A resident of Lake Forest, Waldeck holds an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management and a BA in Education and Behavioral Sciences.

The National Safety Council (nsc.org) saves lives by preventing injuries and deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the roads through leadership, research, education and advocacy.
