The National Safety Council has revised all of their programs to correspond with the 2010 Guidelines. The following is a brief description of each program. Here is an information sheet to help you choose which program is best for you - Training at a Glance.

NSC First Aid, CPR & AED Programs

Comprehensive bloodborne and airborne pathogens training - now online!

The OSHA bloodborne pathogens standard 29CFR 1910.1030 states that if there's even the possibility of just one employee at your site coming into contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials, you must comply.

NSC Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogens online provides the most in-depth training on the market. Your employees will:

NSC First Aid, CPR & AED

Knowing the appropriate action to take in an emergency until professional help arrives is critical to saving lives. You will learn to recognize an emergency, act appropriately and sustain life until professional help arrives. (Spanish version will be available in July)

NSC CPR & AED

This CPR and AED course prepares the layperson to respond to choking, breathing and cardiac emergencies—and how to use an automated external defibrillation unit in conjunction with CPR.

NSC First Aid

This course teaches employees how to recognize everyday emergencies and care for an injury or illness until professional help arrives. First Aid is taught using a combination of instructor, “Watch-Then-Practice” and hands-on training.

NSC First Aid Quick Guide

This full-color, quick guide is a perfect handout for employees, making it easy for everyone to have first aid at their fingertips. It covers basic life support and treatment on more than 50 first aid topics. Convenient and affordable, this guide can be customized to include your company’s emergency response information. Sold in packs of 25.

NSC Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogens

29 CFR 1910.1030 requires employers to safeguard employees who face potential occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. This course helps reduce these risks by focusing on how to protect employees from blood and airborne pathogens and what to do if exposure occurs.

Online Training

NSC First Aid online programs offer an affordable, convenient training option for employees to learn lifesaving skills at their own pace from any computer with an Internet connection. It’s ideal for those whose work assignments make it difficult to complete classroom training. The programs are a great refresher tool to keep skills sharp.

NSC Pediatric First Aid, CPR & AED

Whether it’s a simple cut or bruise or a life-threatening emergency, no one wants to see a child hurt. We have adapted all of the topics from our NSC First Aid, CPR & AED course to meet the special needs of infants and children in our pediatric first aid course.

NSC Advanced First Aid, CPR & AED (formerly FATA)

Immediate response to emergency situations is critical. Are your employees prepared? This 16-to 40-hour advanced first aid course will help them recognize and act in an emergency to sustain life. Designed for the lay person as well as health care professionals. It is ideal for organizations requiring advanced first aid training or as a college-level course.

NSC Basic Life Support for Health Care & Professional Rescuers

This course meets CDC, OSHA and NFPA guidelines, as well as the 2010 CPR and ECC Guidelines. It focuses on immediate life-threatening situations; demonstrates quick, effective responses; and presents perspectives on how frequently these situations occur. It’s ideal for EMS professionals, firefighters, police, paramedics, lifeguards, athletic trainers, medical assistants and others.

NSC Emergency Medical Response (formerly First Responder)
