Safe Communities America, a program of the National Safety Council, is a proven approach to community injury reduction structured around a broad coalition of community partners - involving business, civic organizations, local government, non-profits, and local residents. Safe Communities America is affiliated with the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on Community Safety Promotion in Sweden, whose coalition-based approach to injury prevention began a worldwide movement of community action dedicated to reducing injuries and deaths from preventable cause.
