At Work At Home On the Road

The Rising Stars of Safety

  • Who Are the Rising Stars?

Every year, NSC honors individuals under age 40 with the Rising Stars of Safety Award for demonstrating leadership and dedication to safety at work. You don't have to look far to spot the Rising Stars in your organization. You see them hard at work every day; you know them as the brightest of the bright.

Nominees must have a proven track record of safety leadership and promoting continuous safety improvement. Any employee can be nominated, including employees working abroad. Nominations closed May 14 for the 2017 award.

Meet the 2016 NSC Rising Stars of Safety

The National Safety Council announced its seventh class of NSC Rising Stars of Safety at the 2016 NSC Congress & Expo in Anaheim, CA, in October. The 43 honorees have promoted continuous improvement within their organizations and created initiatives focused on measurable outcomes – key components of the Council's Journey to Safety Excellence.

"Our Rising Stars understand that safety is not a spectator sport," said NSC President and CEO Deborah Hersman. "Their dedication to creating a safety culture at their workplaces helps ensure their colleagues go home safely every day. We are thrilled to recognize their inspiring work."

The honorees for the Class of 2016 were featured in the October issue of Safety+Health magazine.
