The National Safety Council, the nation's leading safety advocate, is on a mission to eliminate preventable deaths in our lifetime through leadership, research, education, advocacy, partnerships and proven solutions.
The Council is helping to make people safer, but we have much work to do. Preventable deaths are at an all-time high in America. Someone dies every four minutes from a preventable incident such as a car crash, poisoning or fall, and Americans are unaware of the greatest risks they face, according to an NSC survey.
With partners like you, the Council will achieve the goal of eliminating preventable deaths. Whether presenting the latest research, creating public awareness campaigns or providing resources to keep employees safe, NSC needs your help to create a culture of safety.
How You Can Help
Unrestricted donations and program underwriting from partners like you will make significant impact toward eliminating preventable deaths in three areas:
Chartered by Congress in 1913 as a workplace safety organization, the Council has made incredible progress. But there is still a long way to go. More than 13 people die every day on the job. Join us in our mission to keep workers safe.
Nearly 30,000 people die each year from opioid overdose, more than 19,000 of those from prescription opioids.
Join us in our efforts to eliminate opioid misuse and other preventable deaths in homes and communities.
On the Road
As many as 40,000 people died on U.S. roads in 2016. It's the leading cause of death in the workplace, as well as for teens, and distraction is still a serious issue. Help us
end this epidemic once and for all.
