    Prior to the leading The Chemours Company in 2015, Mr. Vergnano had been with DuPont since 1980. He received a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and master degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is on the board of directors for the American Chemistry Council and Johnson Controls, Inc.

    Al-Hamwi

    Anas Al-Hamwi

    Walgreens

    Dr. Al‐Hamwi leads Walgreens Retail USA health and safety program and supports the global Walgreens Boots Alliance Casualty Risk Insurance group to improve health, safety and casualty insurance outcomes throughout the company. He is the founding member of the WBA Health, Safety and Environmental Governance Committee, and represents health and safety in the WBA Global Corporate Social Responsibility organization.
    Dr. Al-Hamwi developed an enhanced OSHA response system, and designed and implemented an Active Care model that delivers improved care post-injury while reducing cost. He has developed a culture at Walgreens that integrates safety into all company processes and procedures, resulting in three consecutive years of reduced team member injuries.
    Dr. Al-Hamwi earned a doctor of medicine degree from Damascus University, Syria, and is a member of the Chicago ALSAC chapter of St. Jude charities.

    Patrick Bass provides strategic direction and services, and helps identify new markets and growth opportunities for all of thyssenkrupp companies in the region. Mr. Bass oversees the region’s 21,000 employees and about $9.9 billion in sales.
    Mr. Bass began his career with thyssenkrupp in 1999 as a mechanical engineer and held numerous roles of increasing responsibility within thyssenkrupp’s elevator business, including global lead for product strategy, and research and development. He served as lead engineer for industry-transforming projects such as the MULTI rope-less elevator, ACCEL moving walkways, and MAX, a predictive maintenance, cloud-based solution that forms the basis for thyssenkrupp’s ground-breaking partnership with Microsoft.
    Mr. Bass received his bachelor of science in engineering from Marquette University, Milwaukee, with further studies in systems engineering research at Northampton University, Northampton, England.

    Beitler

    Ms. Beitler has been with Browz LLC, a privately held global software developer and provider, since 2010. Before joining Browz, she spent 13 years at Bowne & Co. Inc., a shareholder and marketing communication services company, where her roles included corporate officer, president of marketing and business communications, and chief information officer. Ms. Beitler holds a master of business administration from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree from Albany University. Her honors include being listed among Forbes Women Business Leaders for 2016.

    Raymond Betler

    Mr. Betler joined Wabtec in 2013 and serves on the company’s board of directors. He started his career as a design engineer for Westinghouse and became the youngest President and CEO in the company’s 120-year history. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and economics, as well as a degree in administration/management science, both from Carnegie Mellon University. He has certificates from the Executive Development Program at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland, and the Finance for Executives Program at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

    Brian J. Cook

    Mr. Cook earned a bachelor’s degree in management and finance and an MBA with a concentration in human resources from Virginia Tech. He also earned a juris doctorate from DePaul University College of Law. He is president of USG Foundation, former board member and chairman emeritus of American Red Cross of Greater Chicago, board member and former chairman of the Department of Management Advisory Board for Virginia Tech Pamplin College of Business, director of the HR Policy Association Center on Executive Compensation and  board member of the HR Policy Association American Health Policy Institute.

    Dreyzehner

    Dr. Dreyzehner leads a team of public health professionals in supporting programs of the Tennessee Department of Health. He previously was district director at Cumberland Plateau Health District, a medical consultant on the Highlands Community Services Board, and director of Blue Ridge Occupational Health, all in Virginia. He also was a flight surgeon and directed key aeromedical programs while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He is tri-chair of the National Homeland Security Consortium, preparedness policy chairman of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, and secretary-treasurer of the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence.

    Mr. Frank has been with Wheels since 1986. He graduated with a bachelor degree in Engineering from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford University. He also serves as vice president of federal affairs for the American Automotive Leasing Association.

    Ms. Hersman has been with the National Safety Council since 2014. Prior to joining NSC, Ms. Hersman served as chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board. She holds bachelor degrees in Political Science and International Studies from Virginia Tech, and a master degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University.

    Koeneke

    Mr. Koeneke has been executive director of the Oklahoma Safety Council, with offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, since 2006. He was active in the formation and lobby for Oklahoma’s 2015 legislative ban on texting while driving. He has worked in managed care worker’s compensation and occupational medicine, and has been directly involved in leading two nonprofits back to profitability. Mr. Koeneke sits on several nonprofit boards and is on the management team for Special Olympics. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Missouri Southern State University.

    Kreinbrink

    Mr. Kreinbrink began his career with Liberty Mutual in 1987 and has held several management and technical positions with the company. The mission of Risk Control Services, in part, is to help customers mitigate and reduce risk while executing Liberty Mutual’s product strategy. Mr. Kreinbrink served for seven years as a foundation trustee on the American Society of Safety Engineers Board and has been active in a number of volunteer organizations. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Florida Southern College.

    Ms Lachenmyer joined ExxonMobil in 1980. She has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from California Polytechnic University, which named her Distinguished Alumnus in Engineering in 2011 and a Hall of Fame inductee in 2014. She served on the Petro Stopping Center Board and the Singapore Economic Development Board. She currently serves on the Dean of Engineering Leadership Board for California Polytechnic University, and on the boards of ExxonMobil Foundation and Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas.

    Liddicoat

    Laura J. Liddicoat
    Forensic Toxicology Consultant

    The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration established a toxicology fellowship with NSC and the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education in 2014. As the program’s first fellow, Ms. Liddicoat provided expertise, identified issues and supported education, training and research that can reduce drunk and drugged driving.
    Ms. Liddicoat worked in the Forensic Toxicology Section at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, serving as technical expert for alcohol and drug chemists, reviewing tests, reporting alcohol and drug results, interpreting lab findings and testifying at numerous impaired driving trials.
    Receiving the 2016 NSC Robert F. Borkenstein Award and the 2017 American Academy of Forensic Sciences Toxicology Section’s Ray Abernethy Award, Ms. Liddicoat is past chair of the NSC Alcohol, Drugs and Impairment Division. She earned a bachelor of science degree in medical technology from University of Wisconsin.

    McCartt

    Anne Taylor McCartt

    During her 14 years at IIHS, Ms. McCartt developed and directed the research program in driver, vehicle and roadway safety. She managed research staff and publication of research papers, and represented IIHS at scientific and professional meetings. She also served on expert and professional committees. She previously was a senior associate with Preusser Research Group Inc., where she developed and directed research projects in highway safety for IIHS, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, National Safety Council and others. She earned a doctorate in public administration and policy and a master’s in library science from the University at Albany, State University of New York.

    Mullen

    Patrick K. Mullen

    Mr. Mullen has more than 30 years of experience in the energy infrastructure business. Prior to being named president and CEO at CB&I, he was chief operating officer, responsible for leading global operations and enhancing the company’s integrated business model. From 2013 to 2016, he held executive roles, overseeing the company’s growth, strategy development and investor relations, and worldwide engineering and construction operations.
    Mr. Mullen joined CB&I in 2007 through the acquisition of Lummus Global, where he developed extensive experience in the refining and petrochemical technology business. He has served on the board of Vectren Corporation since 2014.
    Mr. Mullen holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from University of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN, and a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Evanston, IL.

    Mr. O’Toole joined the board of FirstGroup as a non-executive director in May 2009, was appointed chief operating officer and deputy chief executive in June 2010, and chief executive in November 2010.
    Mr. O’Toole previously was managing director for London Underground, where his leadership in response to the terrorist attacks of July 7, 2005, earned him an Honorary CBE from the Queen. Prior to joining Transport for London in 2003, he was president and chief executive of Consolidated Rail Corporation. He was a board member of CSX Corporation between 2007 and 2017, and was appointed to the board of Edison International and Southern California Edison in July 2017.
    Mr. O’Toole earned a juris doctorate from University of Pittsburgh School of Law and a bachelor of arts from LaSalle University, Philadelphia, which also awarded him an honorary doctorate of letters.

    Mr. Pontsler joined Owens Corning in 2002. He is a steering team member of the Campbell Institute at NSC and chairman of the World Class Team subcommittee. He also is vice chairman of Regional Growth Partnership, a Board and Executive Committee member of the Marathon Classic LPGA Tournament and a cabinet member of the United Way 2013 Campaign Committee for Northwest Ohio. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.

    Pramaggiore

    Anne R. Pramaggiore

    Ms. Pramaggiore joined ComEd in 1998 as lead lawyer and head of regulatory policy to work on the company’s transition to competitive energy markets under the Illinois Consumer Choice Law of 1997. In 2009, she was appointed COO and led the effort to set the legislative framework for ComEd’s Smart Grid build-out, a leading model nationally for modernizing utility systems.
    Ms. Pramaggiore was promoted to her current position in February 2012. She is the first woman president and CEO at the electric utility.
    Ms. Pramaggiore is a board member of Chicago Federal Reserve Board, Motorola Solutions Inc., Babcock and Wilcox Enterprises, and several civic and community organizations. She is a 1989 graduate of DePaul University School of Law and served as editor-in-chief of the school’s Law Review.

    Mr. Sanders has more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry as an environmental, health and safety professional and risk manager. He provides training, DOT compliance, risk management support, and regulatory safety, health and environmental compliance services to the Quanta operating companies which design, install, repair and maintain utility network infrastructure throughout the world.
    Mr. Sanders has been with Quanta Services for more than 17 years. He previously held positions with Willis Corroon Construction, Brock Enterprises Inc., Bechtel Power Corporation, J.A. Jones Construction Company and Alabama Electric Cooperative.
    Mr. Sanders has served three terms on the board of directors and two terms on the board of delegates of the National Safety Council. He holds a bachelor of business administration from Livingston University.

    Stavropoulos

    Nick Stavropoulos

    Mr. Stavropoulos has more than 35 years of experience in the energy industry. He oversees more than 23,000 employees across electric, gas and nuclear operations, serves on the PG&E Board of Directors and is the company’s lead safety officer.
    Mr. Stavropoulos was hired in 2011 to lead a multibillion-dollar recovery and restoration effort after the San Bruno, CA, pipeline explosion. His teams engage companies around the world to develop new technologies to benefit customers and the environment. Under his leadership, PG&E’s gas business has earned multiple third-party certifications.
    Mr. Stavropoulos is an internationally sought-after speaker on topics of leadership and safety culture. He holds a bachelor of science from Bentley College and a master in business administration from Babson College.
