FAA funding bill authorizes new safety measures

Washington – Congress passed a budget bill on Feb. 3 that will provide the Federal Aviation Administration with funding for new aviation and pilot safety initiatives.

Truck weight, size limit increase amended in House transportation bill

Washington – Safety concerns about a provision in a proposed House transportation spending bill that would have increased the weight and size limits for trucks on interstates led the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to amend the provision by first requiring a three-year study.

The purpose of the Transportation Safety Division is to be the conduit for safety-focused information sharing and idea exchange with others in the industry it represents. Interact and discuss safety issues with other professionals who share the same job responsibilities, have experienced the same challenges and can share their thoughts and ideas to help you develop solutions.

The Transportation Safety Division is comprised of one committee and four sections:

Commercial/Fleet and Motor Vehicle

2011 Distinguished Service to Safety Award (DSSA) Honoree

The Transportation Safety Division is proud to announce that Gary Catapano, Sr. Vice President of Safety, First Group, was chosen as the 2011 DSSA award recipient representing the Transportation Safety Division. Gary was awarded during the Opening Session of the 2011 NSC Congress and Expo on Monday, October 31, 2011 in Philadelphia, PA.

Transportation Safety Division Mid-Year 2012 Meeting

The Transportation Safety Division's spring 2012 meeting is scheduled for March 20 - 21 in the metro Washington DC area. We are still finalizing the meeting plans. Further details will be communicated shortly.
