The purpose of the Utilities Division is to be the conduit for safety-focused information sharing and idea exchange with others in the industry it represents. Interact and discuss safety issues with other professionals who share the same job responsibilities, have experienced the same challenges and can share their thoughts and ideas to help you develop solutions.

2012 Utilities Division Billy D. Young Scholarship
Billy D. Young was truly a safety professional and worked tirelessly to create a safer work environment for future generations. The Utilities Division established the Billy D. Young scholarship in his honor as a way for his safety legacy to continue by encouraging others to pursue a career in safety.

2012 Winter Utilities Division Meeting
This year’s 2012 Winter meeting was held in St. Petersburg, Florida from January 29 – February 1, 2012 at the Hilton St. Petersburg Carillon Park hotel. The Division Welcome Reception was held on Sunday evening, January 29th (6-9pm) and the division meetings ran Monday, January 30 through Wednesday, February 1st (ending at noon).

2011 Utilities Division Winter Meeting
The Utilities Division Winter 2011 meeting was held January 23-25, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Embassy Suites Convention Center Hotel located at 3600 Paradise Road Las Vegas, NV 89169.

Certified Utilities Safety Administrator (CUSA) Certification Update Information
The NSC Utilities Division CUSA certification program was sunset July 1, 2009. All current CUSA's at that time were certified as CUSA in good standing for life and received a CUSA certificate with no expiration date. Letters of intent to all CUSA members were sent and reminded to to renew certification before June 30, 2009. New CUSA applications were stopped as of COB Feb. 1, 2009. NSC will continue to house the records of those who have been CUSA designated. If you'd like to check your CUSA status or if you have any questions about the CUSA certification program, please contact CUSA@nsc.org with your request.
