Alcohol Drugs and Impairment Division
 
Welcome to the Alcohol, Drugs and Impairment Division
 
First known as the Committee on Tests for Intoxication, the Alcohol, Drugs and Impairment Division was established by the National Safety Council in 1936.
 
From that time, the group has been active in making recommendations for the control of the drinking and driving problem, including legislation, enforcement, education, chemical testing equipment, training of testing personnel, and other aspects of alcohol countermeasures programs
 
Robert F. Borkenstein Award 
 
This award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions through a lifetime of service consistent with the ideals and achievements of Dr. Robert F. Borkenstein. These contributions will be in the area of alcohol/drugs in relation to traffic and transportation safety.
