Congratulations to the 2017 Marion Martin Award Winner!
Alexi Carli, CSP, is a certified safety professional with a master of science in occupational safety and health and a bachelor of science in business management. She has served in the global health and safety function for Atlanta-based UPS for more than 17 years and is currently vice president of global health and safety.
During her more than 39-year career with UPS, Alexi has held various positions, including as a package handler and driver, as well as in operations management. She has spent the last 29 years in health and safety at the district, regional and corporate level.
As vice president for global health and safety, she is focused on development of management systems and leveraging technology, risk reduction, H&S leadership, as well as behavioral and performance-based processes. She is responsible for:
- Global policy and training program development
- Organizational health and safety strategy
- Injury and auto crash prevention planning
- Business continuity planning
She has been an active presenter, advocate and volunteer in the safety profession with the National Safety Council and the American Society of Safety Engineers. She has been instrumental in attracting the best talent and developing future safety professionals through mentoring and promotion of safety scholarships for high-potential students.
Alexi has been married to her husband, Al, for 36 years. They have three children, Lauren, Christopher and Michelle, and a granddaughter, Bella.
The NSC Marion Martin Award celebrates the accomplishments of women in the safety field who have achieved professional excellence and have helped pave the way to success for other women in safety. Nominees demonstrate excellence in a variety of professional settings and personify excellence on the international, national, regional or local level.
