    2015 Young Professionals Spring Meeting

A group of motivated Young Professionals came together to learn, network and enjoy some much-needed sun and warm weather at the 2015 Young Professionals Division spring meeting Feb. 17 and 18 at the Firesky Resort in Scottsdale, AZ. National Safety Council President and CEO Debbie Hersman and other members of the NSC Executive Board also attended the meeting.

The conference kicked off with a keynote address by Dr. Aubrey Daniels, chairman and founder of Aubrey Daniels International and an expert in management, leadership and safety. Highlights included presentations by Francesca Dellelci and David Stockard of DuPont Sustainable Solutions (the Division sponsor), who each spoke about dynamic leadership.

Along with several group work sessions to help chart the course of the Division, members attended one of three different technical tours. Attendees had the option of visiting Intel, Ping (tour given by Young Professionals member Melissa Schmaltz) or Luke Air Force Base (tour led by Young Professionals member Josh Franklin, SMSgt, USAF).

It was a productive meeting filled with new connections, fresh ideas and excitement over the future of the Young Professionals Division.

  • A Note from Our Leadership Board

Welcome to the NSC Young Professionals Division! This Division is tailored to safety professionals under 45 and those new to the safety profession. We have members spanning all major industries, with experience ranging from months to 20+ years in safety. The Division was built by NSC and the Rising Stars of Safety, recognizing the need for a progressive division tailored to the next generation of safety leaders. What sets us apart from any other division is access to the C-suite, VPs and industry leaders in safety. We have a strong link to the Campbell Institute and its World Class Team through the National Safety Council. These industry leaders are actively engaged in the Division and intend to transfer their knowledge and skills to the next generation. You will find that we focus on networking and development in everything we do.

We hope you decide to join us in our quest to be the largest, most active and engaged group within the National Safety Council. As part of our Division, you will be part of a team that will lead change at all levels of NSC. I would encourage you to actively engage in this Division and take the time to help build the structure for the future. We are always looking for volunteers to help us lead the change, help with Division logistics and execute on our professional development activities.

Welcome to our team. We look forward to getting to know you at our Division events.
