Young Professionals Division 2017 Spring Meeting

The NSC Spring Divisions combined meeting will take place in San Diego May 23 and 24 at the Loews Coronado Bay Hotel. The NSC Young Professionals Division will hold its individual meeting at the hotel on Monday, May 22.

  • Young Professionals 2016 Fall Meeting

    NSC Young Professionals Division members gathered for their fall division meeting at the 2016 Congress & Expo in Anaheim, CA.

    The division hosted a luncheon to welcome the 2016 Class of Rising Stars of Safety to the National Safety Council. The division meeting followed, with updates from committee chairs and general division housekeeping tasks. The group then broke out into workgroups for a productive strategic planning session.     The division will next meet at the 2017 combined Spring Division meetings May 22 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego, CA.

YPD Mission Statement

Our vision is to establish a diverse group of young safety professionals to represent communities, businesses, governments, and learning institutions to reduce risks, engage employees, measure progress and continuously improve the safety profession through collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment to saving lives.

Our mission is to provide a platform to empower young safety professional and mobilize their talents and energy toward promoting safety in our communities and workplaces. The Young Professional Division will create opportunities in the areas of leadership, research, education, advocacy and sustainability of the safety profession. The mission will be accomplished through:

  • Establishing programs to support the development of safety leaders for the future
  • Create opportunities for Young Professionals to participate in researching current and emerging safety issues
  • Education of young professionals and our communities on the role of safety in their lives, and organizations
  • Provide a structure and resources to utilize young professional in advocating for advancing safety in their respective organizations and communities
  • Develop skills and experience in networking, sharing of experience, work-life balance and special issues to ensure the future of the safety profession
  • ​.

The 2017 NSC Spring Meetings May 23 and 24 at Loews Coronado Bay in San Diego will include individual division meetings, networking, social events and technical sessions.

Registration is $250. (Green Cross for Safety awards gala and professional development seminar are not included.)

Hotel reservations must be made by April 25 to receive the group rate.
