Join Us as We Honor Our Accredited Safe Communities

  • We are celebrating the 10th anniversary of Safe Communities America! Join us on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, for Safe Communities America Day, when we will recognize the work of all accredited U.S. Safe Communities in eliminating preventable deaths in our lifetime.

Since 2007, 30 U.S. communities have been accredited as Safe Communities. If you belong to an accredited Safe Community, we encourage you to host an event and spread the word through social media. Every accredited Safe Community will receive a plaque to commemorate this milestone, which can be presented to a partner to recognize their commitment to community safety. Please share your Community Safety Award winners on our Facebook page.

    Get involved!

We have many resources to help your coalition celebrate Safe Communities America Day. Please share them with your partners and let us know what you are planning this year by emailing

Certificate of Participation

Everyone who takes part in Safe Communities America Day can receive this Certificate of Participation, which can be signed by the mayor or another community official. Display the certificate and all the SCA Day material proudly. They are a great reminder of and tribute to the people and partnerships dedicated to keeping thousands of Americans safer.

Safe Communities is a founding member of the Pan Pacific Safe Communities Network.
