At Work At Home On the Road
  • Off-the-Job Motor Vehicles

Be safe on and off the roads.

  • What Employers Can Do To Prevent Crashes

Off the job crashes account for 80 percent of employer crash-related health fringe benefit costs. Half of crash-related injuries force employees to miss work. According to Injury Facts 2014, the economic cost due to crashes was more than $1 million due to deaths and more than $78,000 due to nonfatal disabling injury. To prevent motor vehicle crashes and collisions:

    • Encourage safe driving on and off the job by offering defensive driving courses
    • Offer Employer Assistance Programs for employees who might have problems with alcohol
    • Pass a corporate cell phone policy
    • Pass a policy that requires employees to wear seatbelts
