Billy D. Young Scholarship

Purpose

Billy D. Young is remembered through this scholarship for his many contributions to the National Safety Council, to safety in the utility industry and as a man who always gave his all to get things accomplished. Mr. Young was a friend to all.

Criteria

This scholarship is offered to those who are pursuing a degree in either safety or industrial hygiene and plan to go into the safety and or health fields after graduation.

Award

The Billy D. Young scholariship award is $1,500.

Nomination

Individuals will submit for the scholarship based upon the purpose and criteria above.

Selection

The committee will select the individual based on the information provided by the individual and the following:

• Safety/Health Related Work Experience
• Activities, Awards and Honors (noting any safety/health organization involvement and or awards the individual has received)
• Financial Need
• Unusual Circumstances
