National Safety Council Elects Two to Board of Directors

Election takes place at NSC’s 96th annual Congress & Expo

Anaheim, Calif. – The National Safety Council (NSC) announced the election of two new members of its Board of Directors at the group’s annual meeting, held in Anaheim, Calif. Michael J. Flynn, Director, Occupational Safety & Health and Apprenticeship, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and Sally Head, Executive Director of the National Safety Council, Ark-LA-Tex Chapter, both accepted the two-year terms.

Flynn has served the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers since 1996 and the NSC as a board advisor since 2002. He is also president of IAM CREST (the Association of Machinists’ non-profit corporation for re-employment and safety training), a member of the Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety & Health, a visiting committee member of SpaceTEC, and a board member of the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council.

Head, a Louisiana native, has served the NSC’s Ark-LA-Tex Chapter since 1994. As director, she values her daily opportunities to understand and assist the safety concerns of employers, employees, and their families. Head is a graduate of Louisisana State University-Shreveport, Magna Cum Laude.

Flynn replaces Tim McClain on the NSC’s Board of Directors, who was active on that board and the NSC’s Board of Delegates since 2003. Head replaces Bryan Roessler, who was active on the NSC Board of Directors and Board of Delegates since 2005.
