National Safety Council elects new Delegates

New Orleans, LA - The National Safety Council (NSC) announced today the election of 23 new members of the Council's Board of Delegates. The elections occurred at the Annual Meeting of the National Safety Council, being held in conjunction with the 92nd Annual National Safety Council Congress & Expo.

The Board of Delegates provides direction to the Council on safety and health policy issues. The NSC also has a Board of Directors, which is the Council's principal governance body and provides oversight over fiduciary and strategic affairs, and a Board of Trustees, which oversees the NSC's development and fund raising.

New members of the Board of Delegates are:

  • Salvatore Caccavale, Director, EH&S, Superior Bulk Logistics. Caccavale also serves as Chairman of the Council's Business & Industry division.
  • Chris Canoles, Director- Safety & Health, Home Depot.
  • Kathryn M. Coen, Andersen Corporation. Coen also serves as Vice Chairman of the Council's Community Safety Division.
  • Wayne Cole, Safety Studies Dept., University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Cole also serves as Vice Chairman of the Council's Educational Resources Division.
  • Patrick J. Conroy, Vice President, Risk, King & Neel, Inc. Conroy also serves as Vice Chairman of the Council's Construction Division.
  • Dennis P. Falvey, Corporate Director, Safety & Loss Control, Turner Casualty & Surety.
  • Matt Finucane, Director, EH&S, University of Pennsylvania. Finucane also serves as Chairman of CSHEMA.
  • Ken Flechler, Vice President- Safety & Compliance, Comcast Corporation.
  • Andy Garcia-Rivera, Director - EH&S, Cornell University. Garcia-Rivera also serves on the Council's Board of Directors and as Vice President of the Campus, Safety, Health and Environmental Management Association, a division of the NSC representing volunteers from the campus safety and health community.
  • Lawrence Gibbs, Associate Vice President, EH&S, Stanford University.
  • Greg Hale, Chief Safety Officer and Vice President, Safety Accessibility & Advanced Technology, Walt Disney World Co. Hale also serves on the Council's Board of Directors and as Vice President of the Council's Community Safety Division, which represents volunteers involved in community safety.
  • Sally Head, Director - National Safety Council Ark-La-Tex Chapter. Head also serves as Vice Chairman of the Council's Chapters & Affiliates Division.
  • Major General Kenneth Hess, US Air Force Chief, Air Force Safety, United States Air Force Safety Center.Drew Jones, Vice President, Driver Safety & Recruiting, Laidlaw Education Services.
  • Isabel Krueger, Manager, Corporate Safety, Coast Mountain Bus Co. Krueger also serves as Vice Chairman of the Council's Motor Transportation Division.
  • George Kuers, IBEW Local 103. Kuers also serves as Vice Chairman of the Council's Labor Division.
  • Elizabeth Marcucci, Safety Director, Gonnella Bakery. Marcucci also serves as Vice Chairman of the Business & Industry Division.
  • Tim McClain, Director - Purchasing Dept., International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace & Agricultural Implement Workers of America. McClain also serves on the Council's Board of Directors and as Vice President of the Council's Labor Division, which represents volunteers from organized labor.
  • Jim Robinson, Dept. of Environmental Safety, University of Maryland. Robinson serves as Vice Chairman of CSHEMA.
  • Bryan Roessler, Director, Wisconsin Council of Safety. Roessler also serves as Chairman of the Chapters & Affiliates Division.
  • Susan Smith, Associate Professor Health & Safety, Department of Health & Safety Science, University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Smith also serves as Chairman of the Educational Resources Division.
  • Homer Sterner, Business Representative, IUOE Local 547. Sterner serves as Chairman of the Labor Division.
  • James E. Thomas, Director, Health, Safety & Medical Operations, Chrysler Group, DaimlerChrysler.
  • Tony Watkins, Compensation Administrator, Georgia Electrical Municipality Cooperative. Watkins also serves as Chairman of the Utilities Division.
