NFL promotes player safety during SuperbowlNSC applauds the NFL’s efforts to promote safety as indicated in this New York Times article. Learn more about traumatic brain injury, a common sports injury, on the CDC website. 31 January 2012 New White Paper on Injury and Illness Prevention ProgramsOSHA has issued a white paper on "Injury and Illness Prevention Programs." These programs help employers find and fix hazards before workers are hurt. The paper also highlights the Robert W. OSHA aims to protect workers during winter stormsThe U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has created a web page to help protect workers from hazards they may face working in winter storms. 22 December 2011 Upcoming Holiday Period Traffic Fatality EstimatesNSC estimates 287 traffic fatalities and 28,700 medically consulted injuries will occur during the Christmas holiday, and 297 traffic fatalities and 29,700 medically consulted injuries over the New Year's holiday period. 12 December 2011

John Ulczycki will represent the National Safety Council in this initiative. 15 November 2011 2011 Thanksgiving Holiday Traffic Fatality EstimateNSC estimates 434 traffic deaths and 43,400 medically consulted injuries may occur this 4.25-day Thanksgiving holiday period on our roads.
