2011 Illinois Distracted Driving Summit

 

On Thursday, April 21, 2011 the Illinois Distracted Driving Summit was held.

Every year, more than 5,500 people in the U.S. die in distracted driving crashes and almost 450,000 are injured. Illinois officials, together with federal leaders, are taking the lead on this very important issue by engaging key influencers to determine how best to reduce crashes involving distracted drivers.  

Speakers included:

  • Ray LaHood, U.S. Secretary of Transportation
  • Jesse White, Secretary of State, Illinois
  • John D. Cullerton, Illinois Senate President
  • John D'Amico, Illinois Representative
