Many families impacted by teen driving car crashes want to help enact change in teen driving laws. They understand that a shift in behavior will help prevent injuries and save lives.
There are many ways families can get involved, if they choose:
- Share their story with the HEARTS Network and various media outlets
- Write to lawmakers urging them to support bills that would strengthen their state's current teen driving laws
- Become involved in one of the 11 Teen Safe Driving Coalitions. NSC, with support from The Allstate Foundation, manages coalitions in California, Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas. There also is a coalition in Illinois.
- Become a spokesperson on the issue of teen safe driving
For those interested in working with the media, NSC has developed a variety of resources and tools for HEARTS members. There is no charge to join and families have found comfort from others who share a similar loss.
To join the HEARTS Network, call (630) 775-2411 or email hearts@nsc.org.
