A new film points up the devastating nature of fire

Bulwark Protective Apparel has produced a concept film recording the burning of a paper sculpture to focus attention on the relationship between people and fire.

In a statement about the project on its website, the company explains:

The paper sculpture in the film was a work of art -- a beautiful, elaborate, intricate piece of art. It took eight months of painstaking work by a supremely talented, world-renown artist to create.

And we burned it to ashes. We don't blame you for wondering why.

The answer is simple. We burned the sculpture and made this film as a reminder of why we do the work we do. It's a reminder that in the fact of fire, life, like paper, is fragile.
