Westminster, CO – A coalition aimed at preventing workplace hearing loss is looking to publicly recognize organizations that adhere to the 85-dB limit and 3-dB “exchange rate” for measuring and controlling workplace noise exposures.

The 85-3 Coalition said it intends to list the organizations on its website to show that the 85-3 criteria – which are stricter than OSHA requirements – are considered best practice and widely used.

Interested companies should email a letter signed by an authorized representative to 853@safeinsound.us with the relevant text from their noise policy. Commitments will be accepted through the end of February.

Coalition partners include the National Safety Council, Center for Construction Research and Training, and American Industrial Hygiene Association, among others.
