Washington – The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee is scheduled to host (.pdf file) a meeting Aug. 27-29 to discuss safety provisions in the surface transportation funding bill (.pdf file) signed into law July 6.
Also on the agenda:
- Discussion of progress made on a U.S.-Mexico cross-border pilot program, which began last year and aims to determine whether allowing Mexican motor carriers to trade in the United States poses a safety risk
- Creation of a subcommittee that would provide recommendations to FMCSA to help improve the agency’s Compliance, Safety, Accountability program’s Safety Measurement System
The public meeting is scheduled to take place in Alexandria, VA.
