Washington – OSHA recently appointed Erich J. “Pete” Stafford as the new chair of its Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health.
Stafford has been serving as a committee member and is the safety and health director of the AFL-CIO’s Building and Construction Trades Department. He also serves as executive director of the Center for Construction Research and Training.
“Pete’s wealth of knowledge and experience on a wide range of construction health and safety matters makes him an ideal choice to chair this important committee,” OSHA administrator David Michaels said in an Oct. 25 press release announcing the appointment.
Composed of 15 members, ACCSH advises the secretary of labor on policy matters and formulating construction safety and health standards.
