Itasca, IL - Each year, the National Safety Council and Our Driving Concern honor Texas employers that encourage positive driver behaviors among employees on and off the job through education, training and other activities centered on traffic safety. The Texas Employer Traffic Safety Awards program aims to decrease injuries and fatalities that are a result of crashes on state roads. Applications for the 2018 awards are due electronically March 15.
"Award winners exemplify the highest standards of achievement in employee education and outreach in the areas of traffic safety and driver behavior," Our Driving Concern Senior Program Manager Lisa Robinson said. "Their programs serve as models for others to emulate when developing or reviewing their own workplace traffic safety policies."
Any Texas employer is eligible to submit an awards application. Self-nominations are encouraged. Employers may be municipal or corporate, private or not-for-profit – small or large. A record 15 Texas employers were honored in 2017.
