Itasca, IL – The National Safety Council applauds Consumer Reports' in-depth piece, Driving While Distracted, released Nov. 16. The article reinforces the risks of using hands-free technology behind the wheel, calls attention to the potential benefits of advanced driver assistance systems, and reiterates the prevalence with which drivers are distracted. Distracted driving has led to thousands of deaths on our roadways in the last decade. Strong actions and changes in driver habits are long overdue, and this article underscores why we need to act swiftly to save lives.
