OSHA's Top 10 Most Cited Violations

Far too many preventable injuries and illnesses occur in the workplace. Each year, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration releases the Top 10 Most Cited Violations found in workplace safety inspections, and Safety+Health magazine, published by the National Safety Council, reports on the list.

Although the rankings for OSHA’s Top 10 change little from year to year, the agency provides dozens of statistics. Glance too quickly at the numbers, and you might miss the devil in the details. Fall protection continues to top the list year after year, and workplace falls remain the No. 2 cause of worker fatalities following transportation incidents.

OSHA publishes the list "to alert employers about these commonly cited standards so they can take steps to find and fix recognized hazards" and save lives.
