NSC Announces 2019 Green Cross for Safety Award Semifinalists

Nominees one step closer to prestigious awards for safety excellence.

The National Safety Council has announced the semifinalists for the 2019 Green Cross for Safety Awards, given annually to individuals and organizations that have demonstrated safety excellence in workplaces, in homes and communities, and on the road.

"These semifinalists have shown a true commitment to safety and are strong contenders for a Green Cross for Safety Award,” said Sarah Van Huis, program manager for awards, scholarships and volunteers at NSC. “They are bringing new ideas and approaches into the workplace and our communities to help eliminate preventable deaths and injuries.”

Semifinalists for the 2019 Green Cross for Safety awards are:

  • Brilliant Reflective
  • The Dow Chemical Company
  • La-Z-Boy Incorporated
  • Maryland State Police Professional Development Unit
  • Nationwide
  • Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center
  • USAF, Ogden Air Logistics Complex, Ground Safety Team, Ogden, UT
  • Predictive Safety SRP, Inc.
  • Progressive Agriculture Safety Days, a program of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation
  • Schneider
  • TransOptions
  • USAG, Fort Riley
  • University of Central Florida
  • University of Pittsburgh Department of Emergency Medicine and National Association of State EMS Officials

Finalists will be announced at the end of March; winners will be announced at the 2019 Green Cross for Safety Awards gala May 16 in Chicago. More information can be found here.
