Individual Awards

These awards, a distinguished mark on an employee's career, recognize the person on your team who may have saved lives through hazard recognition.

  • Achievement Award: Honors an individual who has contributed to the success of the hazard recognition program by recognizing and reporting current and potential hazards, serving on a hazard recognition committee, and completing safety walks and assessments
  • Outstanding Service Award: Recognizes an individual who has created a safer work environment by showing employees how to recognize hazards, maintaining a system to report hazards and maintaining a system to acknowledge employee participation and engagement in the program

Corporate Awards

These awards recognize companies, units and/or facilities that have a program in place for the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses by incorporating hazard recognition in their safety management system.

  • Bronze Award: Honors companies that have established and maintained a hazard recognition program that contains the four elements above
  • Silver Award: honors companies that have an increase in the percentage of the number of hazards reported and corrected from the previous year
  • Gold Award: Commemorates companies that have had a steady increase in the percentage of the number of hazards reported and corrected over the past two years
  • Crystal Award: Pays tribute to companies that have had a hazard recognition program in place for the past three or more years that demonstrates a steady increase in the percentage of the number of hazards reported and corrected each year and have taken timely corrective actions

Qualifying organizations can purchase an award to display at their organization. Engraved plaques are available for $79.95; etched Crystal Awards are available for $149.95. Shipping, handling and tax will be applied.

Award Rules and Receipt

If your application is approved, your award will be shipped in four to six weeks. Awards may be delayed due to reduced warehouse staffing in response to COVID-19 statewide shelter-in-place order. The National Safety Council reserves the right to change without notice any statement in the Occupational Awards Program concerning, but not limited to, rules, policies, awards, delivery dates/methods and fees.
