As a career naval officer, Captain Williams developed expertise in high risk operations of marine engineering, combat systems, strategic planning and crisis management. In a distinguished 27-year Navy career he taught leadership at the U.S. Naval Academy, commanded two destroyers and a guided missile cruiser, led fleet operations for a major U. S. Following naval service, he joined A. P. He developed and executed a strategy that engaged leadership and achieved the near-elimination of fatal and serious injuries and operational disruptions.

He is a member of the National Maritime Safety Association, chairman emeritus of the Conference Board’s EHS Council, and has past service with the National Safety Council as a member of the Board of Trustees, Board of Delegates and the Campbell Advisory group.
