Mr. Vergnano was named the first CEO of The Chemours Company prior to its spinoff from DuPont in July 2015. Under his leadership and with an ambitious five-point transformation plan, the company addressed the challenges associated with building a new company. This transformation complete, he is now leading a company poised for growth. Born in Hartford, CT, Mr. Vergnano received his BS degree in chemical engineering from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a member of the University of Connecticut School of Engineering Academy of Distinguished Engineers and Hall of Fame. He is vice chairman of the American Chemistry Council and a member of the board of directors of Johnson Controls International PLC. He is former president of the NSC Board.
