Pat Cunningham, HSE director, Cummins Fridley Minn. Assembly Plant, has been employed in the safety profession for over 30 years since earning his master’s degree in safety management from the University of Wisconsin – Stout. During his career, Pat has worked in three industries: electric utility, contractor management service industry and in manufacturing/assembly (Cummins). Within his various roles, Pat has been an individual contributor serving as a site safety professional, team supervisor, regional manager and corporate safety director.

Throughout his career, Pat has worked closely with the National Safety Council and has been a conference speaker, delegate, article writer and, in 2022, he was awarded the Distinguished Service to Safety Award, the highest level award an individual can receive from NSC.

Pat is married with three adult daughters, has traveled the world administering the sport of broomball in hosting world championships, and he enjoys playing tournament euchre.
