Exhibit Sales Coordinator

Itasca, IL

Requirements:

  • 3+ years in business environment, especially sales environment.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and execute detailed projects with follow-up tracking required.
  • Strong written communication skills, ability to work as a team as well as independently.
  • Knowledge of database software, Microsoft word and excel.
  • Travel once a year to Congress; 12 - 14 hour days required during Congress.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work.

Responsibilities:

  • Mail exhibitor prospectus packets with customized sales letter.
  • Field phone calls from prospective exhibitors if sales team is unavailable or out of office.
  • Prepare lists for Exhibit Sales Reps for trips to competitive Trade Shows, including whether each company is a Current Exhibitor, Past Exhibitor, or Potential Exhibitor.
  • Process all exhibit space applications: enter in Vision, Access, and Website; verify information and correct errors based on exhibitor follow-up.
  • Produce weekly exhibit sales report, exhibitor list, and weeks out report for Conventions staff.
  • Coordinate mailing of various exhibitor packets which include confirmation letters, regulations, housing, exhibitor manuals and other promotional materials.
  • Track all additions, cancellations and reductions in space.
  • Enter contracts in Vision and update spreadsheet.
  • Send Invoices and Confirmation Letters (working with Marketing to get deadlines and specs)
  • Answer general exhibitor questions via phone and email.
  • General monthly sales report and commission report.
  • Audit floor plan, website, Vision, and Access.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Exhibitor Sales Reps.

Information Architect/SEO Specialist

Itasca, IL


Requirements:

  • Two plus years of applied Information Architect experience. Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Graphic Design or equivalent work experience.
  • In depth understanding of search engines and working knowledge of the techniques used to achieve high rankings with the existing web site and build into the new web site.
  • Knowledge and understanding of database concepts and Internet technologies and architecture software programs.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work in a cross-functional environment, managing multiple projects with excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with the business teams to translate business requirements and usability feedback into web based user interfaces.
  • Research the competitive landscape and make recommendations relating to web site organization and information hierarchy.
  • Design navigation and interactive programs. Perform usability testing of proposed designs.
  • Monitor overall Search Engine Optimization program success with regards to ranking, indexed pages, back links.
  • Build web site with adherence to SEP best practices to achieve high ranking on search engine results page.

Controller

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree with a major in accounting required.
  • CPA certification required.
  • 7 years experience managing accounting and financial functions preferably in a small to mid-sized organization between $25 million and $100 million in annual revenue.
  • Excellent understanding and application of generally accepted accounting principles including financial accounting and cost accounting is required.
  • Budgeting and financial projection experience is required.
  • Experience with accounting, reporting, and budgeting software is required.
  • Knowledge of payroll tax and sales tax regulations is required.
  • Senior-level writing and presentation skills required.
  • Masters degree with a concentration in finance or accounting preferred.
  • Background in grant and non-profit accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft/Great Plains Dynamics accounting software, FRx reporting software, and Microsoft Forecaster budget software preferred.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provide timely financial information and analysis to the National Safety Council’s executive team.
  • Lead the annual budget and interim projection processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all requirements and regulations related to government grants and contracts.
  • Evaluate the impact of financial accounting, reporting, and audit requirements and recommend appropriate policies and applications.
  • Responsible for all external reporting requirements including preparation of the annual financial statement report and pension plan annual report.
  • Maintain all financial, accounting and tax reporting systems.
  • Primary responsibility for the Council’s relationship with external auditors, including planning and coordination of audits.
  • Responsible for all matters related to federal, state and local tax issues, including the interpretation and communication of tax laws as needed throughout the organization.
  • Maintain all Council bank accounts, including reconciliations, interbank transfers, cash forecasting and other appropriate records.
  • Manage the treasury function, including short-term investment and cash management.
  • Direct professional development for the Accounting & Finance organization, in collaboration with the Human Resources department.

Communications Intern

Itasca, IL


The National Safety Council is the nation's leading non-profit membership organization committed to injury prevention through safety training and education. Our leadership in the development of training in occupational safety and health, defensive driving, emergency care and first aid is unparalleled. We are seeking a Communications/PR Intern in our Communications Department.

This is a paid internship ($11/hr) for a junior or senior year student studying journalism, communications, writing or a related discipline. The position is located in Itasca, IL and candidates must have demonstrated writing capabilities. 15-20 hours/week schedule open.


Responsibilities:

  • Research and write brief articles for the NSC website homepage
  • Create a Safe Communities media kit for use by communities seeking program designation
  • Research and write articles for the NSC intranet
  • Assist in filing process of NSC media clips
  • Work on news releases and other projects

Bi-Lingual Record Coordinator

Syracuse, NY

Requirements:

  • Experience in call center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience desired.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, good math skills.
  • Computer entry experience a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares mailing of registration materials to motorists based on lists received from state agency.
  • Answers telephones to include screening and routing calls; provides program and schedule information.
  • Registers motorists with credit card payments.
  • Inputs fee and registration information into computer.
  • Opens and distributes incoming mail.
  • Prepares class registrations and forwards to instructors and/or students.
  • Issues letters to motorists relative to incomplete paperwork, failure to attend, etc.
  • Researches and resolves enrollment/completion problems.
