National Safety Council and NICC agreement extends partnership 5 years
The agreement is the third, five-year agreement between the two organizations since NECAS was founded to
educate and train farmers, ranchers, their families and employees, and emergency rescue personnel, on agriculture
safety.

NICC and partners receive continued Federal funding for Ag programs
Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) recently announced continued federal funding for the Dairy Center and for the National
Education Center for Agriculture Safety (NECAS). Northeast Iowa Community College plays a vital role in both of these
important agriculture initiatives.
The Dairy Center provides continuing dairy education and applied research near the NICC campus in Calmar and is
a joint project of the Northeast Iowa Community-Based Dairy Foundation, Northeast Iowa Community College and Iowa
State University. This project received $229,000 in federal appropriations.
