Safety+Health magazine wins two national graphic design awards

Itasca, ILSafety+Health magazine, the National Safety Council’s flagship publication, has received two American Inhouse Design Awards for outstanding design created by an in-house design staff.

Conducted by New York-based Graphic Design USA magazine, the 31-year-old awards program showcases the creativity of professional graphic designers as judged by their peers. “The competition aims to assure that the outstanding work of inhouse designers and design teams is fully recognized by colleagues, the creative community and, importantly, corporate and institutional management,” according to Awards Director Rachel Goldberg.

Designers Sarah Bartlett and Shaun O’Brien produced the May 2005 and September 2005 issues of Safety+Health, which were chosen as winners in the 2006 competition. Safety+Health Publisher Suzanne Powills said: “We have invested in both the editorial content and the graphics used to illustrate that content. We pride ourselves on recognizing safety and health trends, and on delivering pertinent news and information in an appealing format to our readers.” With a circulation of more than 70,000, Safety+Health is the safety industry’s leading news and trends analysis magazine.
