BARRY HOLT, BSc(Eng), ARSM, CMIOSH
Regional Director
Barry Holt has over 30 years experience in providing environment, health and safety
consulting services and training to a wide range of commercial, industrial and public
organizations in most European countries, the Middle East, USA and Far East.
Barry Holt is the Regional Director for the International Safety Council, a global
subsidiary of the National Safety Council, USA. Prior to joining the Council in
January, 2002, he was a senior consultant in the Business Risk Practice at Willis
& Principle Consultant at Norwich Union Risk Services.
Barry is also involved in the academic field, being a visiting lecturer in health
and safety and risk management on MSc programs at University College, London and
Imperial College, London. He was also external examiner on the postgraduate programs
in the Centre for Hazard & Risk Management, University of Loughborough. Barry was
a member of the Project Board for a three year Government funded research project
to identify key factors influencing risk perception in construction projects. This
was carried out by University College, London and the University of Manchester Business
School.
Barry has consulted for major blue chip organizations, particularly in the engineering,
chemical, petroleum, food and drink, pharmaceutical and mining industries including
Shire Pharmaceuticals, Siemens, Phillip Morris, Kraft Foods, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation,
ILO, BP Chemicals and Eastern Petrochemicals (Saudi Arabia). He has written numerous
articles in journals and has contributed to two books on risk.
