BALTIMORE – The National Safety Council announced the honorees of the 2025 Networks Catalyst in Safety Award, recognizing the driving forces behind proactive approaches to innovating critical environmental, health and safety (EHS) solutions.

Georgia-Pacific
The manufacturing company demonstrated their commitment to safety through its program, Preventing Powered Industrial Truck Pedestrian Struck-By Interactions Using AI Cameras with Speed Control, which leveraged new technology to make vulnerable roadway users and their employees safer.

Southern California Edison
The electric utility company was recognized for its proactive approach to innovating workplace safety and mitigating hazards, as detailed in the report, Energy-Based Safety: A Transformational Approach to Eliminating Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIF).
“Southern California Edison and Georgia-Pacific have demonstrated how curiosity, creativity and an innovative spirit are necessary to push the safety field forward and protect employees,” said Lorraine Martin, NSC CEO. “The National Safety Council is honored to celebrate the accomplishments of these two safety trailblazers and to partner with them in our mission to prevent injuries and save lives in our workplaces."
The Networks Catalyst in Safety Award recognizes individuals, teams or networks that act as a driving force for meaningful EHS improvement by identifying risks, mobilizing broad engagement and implementing innovative solutions that strengthen employee and environmental protection across the organization.
The award was presented on May 6 at the NSC Leaders in Safety Award Celebration, part of the 2026 NSC Safety Summit, in Baltimore.
