The National Safety Council and U.S. Postal Service Headquarters work together to reward drivers who deliver on safety every day. The NSC Safe Driver Awards program is an easy way to encourage driver safety, and most program awards are free of charge as part of the U.S. Postal Services NSC membership.

Safe Driver Lapel Pin

Expert Driver Award

Recognize drivers for 1 to 45 years driven without incident. 8” x 10” white and red foil certificate with USPS and NSC logos, includes driver’s name and years driven.

Million Mile Plaque

Recognize 1 million miles or 30 accumulated years without a preventable incident. Walnut plaque includes engraved nameplate. A million mile pin also is included.

Safe Driver Wallet Cards

Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of the Year Award

The Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of The Year nomination period has closed for 2026. Notifications will be sent by email to the nominators, and the winners will be announced in June. Thank you to all who participated.

The nomination period for 2027 will open Jan. 1, and nominations will be accepted through April 30.
